Did you know we also play on Mondays and Fridays at Fort Worden?
We have just learned that many folks had no idea that some of us meet at 10:00 AM on Mondays and 1:00 PM on Fridays to play a few games. It usually is a smaller group than on PTPA Club Days (Wednesday and Sunday). If you are a PTPA member, feel free to join us.
The July 16 Low Tide Invitational was an experience!
Robert Force pulled off another memorable Low Tide Invitational and the wet weather made it truly unique in his view. Roughly 24 folks came out into the tide pools and seaweed to fiercely compete. Games were assigned by the cards they drew.
The annual event was also featured in the Peninsula Daily News, and Robert, Dave, Rhonda and Barb are now regional celebrities. (See French sport mixes tosses with

Mother Nature arrived in force and rained out the afternoon round. Play will continue Monday August 10 starting at 10AM on the Boatyard beach. Following intense competition, the trophies created by Robert will be awarded. Many thanks to Robert and his support team of Terry and Susie.

How to make better decisions in a game.
Play intelligently. In every game, it’s not just the technique that makes the difference, it’s also your strategy and your mindset.
Here are 3 key points to help you make better decisions.
Observe before acting
Look at the field, analyze the position of the balls and anticipate your opponent’s reaction. Impatience is the enemy of strategy.
Communicate with your partner
Propose your ideas and listen to your partner’s. Even if you don’t agree at first, discussing
creates stronger choices.
Take responsibility for your decisions. Once you have made a choice, play with confidence,
Hesitating or regretting in the middle of the game makes you lose in precision and impact. Side note: Make note of mistakes and discuss good points and how to improve play and strategy.

The Fort Worden Boulodrome Saturday, August 8 Select Doubles and Sunday, August 9 Select Doubles "Twist" (The twist: all players must have a different partner). Team Entry Fee: $50/day First Place payout: $1500/day. Maximum of 38 teams.
Come join us for a Potluck at the Fort Worden courts Friday at 5:30 PM
The potluck welcome event begins at 5:30pm on Friday August 7th at our Fort Worden
Boulodrome. We hope you can join us and bring an appetizer, entrée, salad or dessert. We
will be hosting about 60 tournament participants so don't feel shy about bringing a large portion of whatever you make. Please bring your contribution no later than 5:15pm.
Event Schedule:
Friday, August 7: practice play throughout day, skills competition starts 3PM, potluck 5:30PM
Saturday, August 8: Select Doubles. Registration starts at 8AM and competition begins at
9AM. Team Entry Fee: $50/day. First Place payout: $1,500/day. Maximum of 38 teams.
Sunday, August 9: Registration starts at 8AM and competition begins at 9AM. Select Doubles Twist. The Twist: all players must have a different partner. Team Entry Fee: $50/day. First Place payout: $1,500/day. Maximum of 38 teams.
